Introduction to Physical Theatre
Join Quirky Bird cast members Kieran Boon and Harry Freeman for an energetic and highly physical workshop exploring the creative possibilities of physical theatre. Drawing on their professional performance experience, Kieran and Harry will guide students through a series of practical exercises designed to develop storytelling through movement, ensemble work and non-verbal communication.

Core TeamKieran Boon is a core member of the Quirky Bird team. An imaginative and detailed theatre maker with a deep passion for physical theatre, Kieran brings a wealth of professional performance experience to his workshops, helping students unlock bold and expressive movements.
Harry Freeman
Cast MemberHarry Freeman has been part of the Quirky Bird family since 2019, joining the DNA cast as Phil and making the role his own over the next few years. Since then he has gone on to tour across the country with several productions and most recently appeared in the West End debut of ‘Some Masterchef S**T’ which gained critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025.

Develop powerful storytelling through physical movement, ensemble work and exploring the nuances of non-verbal communication.
The Body as a Tool
Discover techniques to create character, atmosphere, narrative and emotion by using the body as a primary theatrical tool rather than relying solely on text.
Contemporary Approaches
Experiment with approaches used by contemporary theatre companies through collaborative tasks, physical improvisation and creative devising challenges.
Building Confidence
Ideal for KS3, this session supports devising and creative development while building teamwork, performance skills and inspiring bold, dynamic ideas.
